INTRODUCTION

Hello, my name is Rory. I’ve been teaching English for several years now and began my vocation in the rolling hills of Tuscany, Italy, just outside the city of Siena. From that point on, I began teaching English regularly over the summers, particularly, in the United Kingdom. I was later hired for a full-time ESL teaching position in Toronto in early 2016 and have been teaching many students since then. I teach everything from Kindergarten to Grade12 in a publicly funded school, and also teach English lessons to adults at Language Links.

INTRODUCTION

My name is Amanda and I am from Canada. I recently returned from teaching English in Indonesia for the last two years. My students were aged 3 and up and I hope they learned as much from me as I did from them! My love of languages started years ago when I did a student exchange to Spain so I can relate to what students are going through when they are learning a new language. I believe the opportunities provided by learning English are endless and I am excited to be part of that journey and to get to know so many different people in the process. Learning English should be fun!

INTRODUCTION

Hello. My name is Paul and I am an English and French teacher who lives in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. I look forward to meeting all of my new students working for Language Links. Learning a new language is a skill, and that means we need to practice. How, you say? We will focus on your speaking, reading, and writing. We will always try and use our English to communicate in all three of these areas. It can be a little bit of work, but it can also be fun. Always remember, if you have a question, you should always ask. Someone else in the class might have the same question and be afraid to ask. Never be afraid to learn. See you soon!

INSTRUCTOR

INTRODUCTION

Hello! My name is Greg and I am a teacher from Edmonton, Canada. I have my education degree from the University of Alberta and have been teaching for almost six years. After I graduated I decided to move to England for two years teaching in British primary schools. I taught students from grades one to four. I developed a passion for teaching young students reading, writing and math. After living in England, I decided to move to Vietnam to teach ESL students. When I was in Hanoi I taught students between the ages of 10-14. Then I moved to Ho Chi Minh City to teach at an international school. Furthermore, I lead professional development seminars, coached the soccer team and organized school-wide events. My time in Vietnam has been a valuable experience in developing my interpersonal communication skills as well as showing cultural awareness as this has allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of the students' thinking and background. I have also taken many additional education courses to continue my professional development as an educator.

I have dedicated the last six years primarily teaching English as a second language which has also allowed me to travel around the world experiencing new cultures in Europe and Asia.
I am excited to continue teaching English and further develop my skills as an educator. I believe that a good teacher must be energetic and I use multiple methods of teaching (visual, auditory, linguistic) to reach a student’s full potential.  Recently I moved back to England and am currently living in Bristol.

Hobbies:  Travel, Soccer, Badminton, Exploring the outdoors in my free time, and Volunteering to foster and adopt abandoned animals.
